Tender chicken, fragrant rice, throw in some delectable side dishes(for a more "balanced" meal, ha!) and couple it with lots and lots of chilli, ginger and dark sauce.....yum.....
Smooth, tender chicken with lots of cucumber
Stir-fried bittergourd (not bitter at all!) with eggs...lots of wok hei here
Lastly, Hainanese chicken chop the way we liked it, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside
All these served in a traditional coffeshop setting complete with harsh flourescent lights, booth seats, wooden chairs, marble tables and most important of all, a surly waiter taking your order. :p
It cost $20.20 for 1 plate of chicken, stir-fried bittergourd with egg, Hainanese chicken chop, 3 plates of chicken rice and 2 towels for the 2 of us.
We know it's not the best chicken rice in Singapore. But given that the food is pretty decent, store location being a bus ride away from our home, and Fairprice Finest is just a short 10 min walk from the store, this won't be our last visit to Wee Nam Kee.
